What information we require from you
What information do we need from you?
Plans
So that we can identify your property/development and give you an accurate quotation for the work, we'll need you to provide us with plans of the location including adjacent properties and streets and a site layout.
Boundary plan
- the Land Registry
- your planning application
- your property deeds
- hand drawings on an existing plan
Meter position
Please make sure that your proposed new meter positions are clearly marked on your site layout plan. To find out more about permitted meter locations, see our Notes of Guidance.
Property details
The overall design will be determined by the number of properties that require connecting and the type of heating to be installed in the properties. You will need to provide full details of electricity and water heating. You will also need to let us know if any temporary or landlords’ supplies are required.
Group metering positions
For flats or maisonettes where a group metering position is required, you will need to provide an Internal Layout Plan with your application. See our Notes of Guidance.
Load
We need to know the maximum power you require and details of any disturbing loads. Your load requirements need to be stated in kVA (Kilo Volt Amps).
Disturbing and non-disturbing loads
Information is required about all motors and electric welders to be connected to the system, especially the largest motor and its method of starting, for example, ‘Star Delta’ and ‘direct on line’ (DOL) and its frequency of start. If you don't know this information, please refer to the manufacturer or the equipment installer. If available, please provide copies of the data sheets for any motor that will be installed.
Meter installation
We recommend that you register all supply numbers with your electricity supplier. Otherwise, your final electricity connection(s) may be delayed. Your electricity supplier will be responsible for installing the meter and isolator switch.
